Options and expectations for waiting areas are shifting. In many cases visitors and patients bring their own entertainment options with them. However, all those smart phones, tablets, and laptops need power outlets (and wifi).
Still, a TV on the wall has an important role to play, and the content options have never been greater. For example, a display in a post-op waiting area might show the status of surgery patients for their family in between nature scenes, electronic art, and information about local points of interest.
